This coming weekend will be one of the biggest games of the season. Yes, it's important, but it's also the game that I wait for all year. The chance for my beloved UGA Bulldogs to kick some Gator tail.
This weekend we're pulling out the stops for game day snacking. You
better believe there will be loads of Sweet Six on hand. I'm cooking up a
big batch of No. 5 to get us through the afternoon. We'll have peanuts and popcorn as well. I'm partial to boiled peanuts in the Fall but they take forever to cook and I just don't want to spend all day in the kitchen.
Dad likes hot wings and who doesn't want a platter of spicy chicken as they cheer on their team? Here's his recipe for firey hot chicken wings:
Blazin' Hot Chicken Wings
- 2 lbs of chicken wings and drumsticks with skin on, tips removed
- 1 Tbsp salt
- 1 Tbsp cracked black pepper
- A jar of Frank's RedHot Buffalo Wing Sauce
- Large size aluminum baking sheet
- Large stainless steel bowl
- A jar of Marie's Chunky Blue Cheese dressing
- 1 bag of organic celery stalks or hearts
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Rinse all chicken and place in a single layer onto baking sheet. Bake for 30-45 minutes. The longer you cook the wings, the crispier they will be. Remove from oven and dump into giant stainless steel bowl after allowing to cool for 5 minutes. Eyeball the Frank's RedHot Buffalo Wing sauce as you add it. Obviously the more you add, the saucier they'll be. Toss vigorously. Don't be gentle. You want to really rough up these little guys. Serve warm on a platter with celery and blue cheese dressing on the side.
